Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Easy: This is one of the easiest recipes you can get your hand on if you’re looking for deliciously juicy chops without the hassle.
- Flavor: Nothing compares to the flavor locked in a pork chop that’s perfectly cooked!
- Family-friendly: You can make these chops as simple as you’d like to suit your family’s taste buds and preferences.
- Versatile: You can serve chops with salads, veggies, potatoes, and so much more!
Ingredient Notes & Substitutions
- Boneless pork chops: Boneless pork chops are recommended as they’re easier to work with, especially if you have children or picky eaters in the home. However, some prefer to cook bone-in pork chops, as they can render even more flavor than traditionally boneless chops.
- Parmesan cheese: We recommend topping these chops with parmesan cheese. Of course, you can also use a blend of parmesan and Romano or another cheese you prefer. We find that the lighter cheeses work best with any type of pork chop we’re making, bone-in or boneless.
- Breadcrumbs: Breadcrumbs add a delicious texture to the pork chops without overpowering the meat. However, if you’re looking for an alternative type of crumb, consider panko breadcrumbs. If you’re making low-carb or keto foods, you can also use crushed pork rinds (flavored or plain) for a zero-glucose impact.
- Garlic powder: You don’t have to use garlic powder in this recipe if you’re not a fan. Or, alternatively, you can also add freshly minced garlic into the pan while cooking your chops.

Tips for Success
When you’re making oven baked pork chops, allow the meat to come closer to room temperature before popping them into the oven (and after seasoning them). This will help break the proteins in the meat down, rendering a much more juicy chop!
Storage & Reheating
If you’re looking for a baked pork chop that can be stored and reheated at a later time, you’ve found the right recipe. This recipe can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Simply place your cooked (and cooled) pork chops into an airtight container and set them in your refrigerator.
It’s also possible to freeze your pork chops as well. You can do the same with a freezer-friendly Ziploc bag or with airtight containers designed for the freezer. Freeze these pork chops individually for quick thawing or altogether for another family dinner at a later time. These pork chops can be stored in your freezer for 2-3 months, depending on your preferences.
To reheat these chops, simply remove them from the airtight container you’ve stored them in. Allow the chops to thaw or come close to room temperature. You can then reheat them in the microwave for 2-3 minutes, per pork chop. Or, you can return them to a preheated 350 degree oven for 10-15 minutes, or until they’re warmed through.
Serving Suggestions
While it may sound new to you, making your own homemade applesauce is one way to elevate this dish! Homemade applesauce brings a tangy, sweet addition to these hearty and filling chops. You can also serve these delicious pork chops with various roasted veggies, such as asparagus, green beans, and even corn. If you want an even healthier side, try a green crisp salad! You can even try your hand at Greek rice for something completely new with these baked chops.
Notes
You can also make these pork chops ahead of time to reheat and cook on the day you want to use them. Simply coat and store these pork chops in freezer and fridge-friendly Ziplocs or airtight containers for 2-3 days before you cook them to allow the seasoning to fully incorporate with the pork chops.

Juicy Seasoned Chops
Ingredients
- 4 Center-Cut Bone-In Pork Chops 1-inch thick is ideal for preventing dryness
- 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs replaces standard crumbs for a lighter, crunchier texture
- ½ cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- ½ tsp Dried Sage a classic pairing that brings out the sweetness of the pork
- 2 Large Eggs beaten
- 2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter melted (drizzled over the top before baking)
- Salt and Black Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat the pork chops completely dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper and let them sit at room temperature for 15 minutes. This helps the meat retain its juices during the high-heat bake.
- In one shallow bowl, place the beaten eggs. In a second bowl, combine the Panko, Parmesan, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and sage.
- Dip each chop into the egg, then into the breadcrumb mixture. Press the breading firmly onto the meat with the palm of your hand to ensure a thick, even coating that won’t fall off in the oven.
- Place a wire cooling rack on top of a baking sheet and arrange the chops on the rack. Elevating the meat allows hot air to circulate underneath, ensuring the bottom is just as crispy as the top.
- Just before sliding into the oven, lightly drizzle the melted butter over the breaded chops. This helps the Panko turn a deep golden brown.
- Bake at 400°F for 15–20 minutes. Use a meat thermometer to pull the chops when they reach an internal temperature of 145°F.
- Let the chops rest on the rack for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the fibers to relax and the juices to redistribute.
